nexus 7 two finger

Hi, as I'm a simple kinda guy who thought I'd buy my 6 & 4 year olds a nexus 7 each, they really struggle to use it with the two finger thing as they're used to using the wife's ipad.
Is there an app or something that can be either be purchased or downloaded or a setting that can be changed on the unit as it is very frustrating to use.
It also types very slow compared to ipad
Please help
