I just purchased a nexus 7, I also have a ipod shuffle. I want to download music to my nexus and copy to the ipod.

What are some solutions?

Thank you very much!

sounds like AirDroid is perfect for you but USB cables will work and may be needed --

Media from my iPOD mini can be read (did not try write) using USB Camera Mode (PTP) and Nexus Media Importer when plugged into my N7 with an OTG adapter.

Settings > Storage > Menu (3 dots at top rt) > USB > Camera PTP

Nexus Media Importer https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...?q=nexus+media+importer&c=apps&token=kjHd3Xiv

N7 write access to USB storage (your iPOD) may require root access and Stickmount app.....

I currently have stickmount, and have done plenty with it. Keep in mind that Apple has its own way of naming and categorizing music. With the N7 rooted, you can use stickmount to listen to music from your iPod, and you can copy music from the iPod. ( you can cut, too, and actually remove the songs from the iPod. The only trouble I've had was ADDING music to an iPod. Seems like the iPod has to recognize it's plugged into iTunes, and then it lets iTunes (and only iTunes) add music. The only way I can think of going around this is an iTunes emulator, maybe? I've never tried air droid before. How does it work, and what can it do?

Try it is the best way. It moves N7 file maintenance functions to a desktop browser window - so you can use your PC to shuffle files around on the N7 and the rest of it's extended file system. Just how extended that file system is, is the question since USB mounting etc is a little wonky on the N7.

Got air droid last night and played around for about three hours. Basically, it lets you control your tablet using a computer. So it's a no to having the N7 recognize an iPod like iTunes would. Time to go search for an emulator ( maybe even write one myself.... :( )

This is what you can you if you don't want to root. :)
