here we go!
if you need to make a custom wallpaper and want it to look exactly like it will be on the screen, use the following measurements:

(I made this in GIMP, measuring it. Let me know if I'm off)

800 x 1280, area of TOTAL display.

800 x 1205, area of display in between navigation bar and top of the screen, (WITHOUT the status bar)

800 x 1173, area of display in between navigation bar and status bar

navigation bar - 800 x 75 pixels
status bar- 800 x 32 pixels

the measurements *should* be correct.

800x1172 is what seems to work for application size for me.

I measured in Photoshop then output an AIR for Android application in that size. I see my 1px border perfectly with no white on the edges.

I was trying to find out this information to get a VNC session working. I needed it for landscape orientation, though. The soft button bar is narrower in landscape at 64px, leaving 1280x736px free (my VNC app, Pocket Cloud, hides the status bar; if only it could do the same with the soft button bar).

Hi
question I have a Nexus 7 How do you make the screen to show more of a game. Something happened and now the game is too big for the screen
How do you change it so that you see more of the game on the screen?

thanks

You could root it, flash Paranoid Android, use the PIE feature, and that disables the navigation bar. You can swipe up to see the Home, Back, etc, buttons. It'll make your screen bigger.
