Hello everyone,
I purchased N7 few days a ago. It is running 4.2.2 android version. I use Connectify software to turn my laptop into hotspot, since I don't have any other wifi connection... My N7 cant see the connection at all, I tried to add connection manually, but it says Not in range. I use the same way for my Iphone and it works great. I don't have any problems connecting to some other public networks with my N7. Do you have any idea how to solve this problem, because I really need wifi on my N7 at home?
Best regards!

Android devices with stock OS can't see ad-hoc WiFi networks. This seems to be a security decision by google. Most laptops and usb WiFi sticks, however, can *only* create ad-hoc WiFi hotspots. This is a hardware limitiation. Finally, those few android devices that can create hotspots, will always create infrastructure hotspots (which is, for example, what a wireless modem router does).
So either make sure that your laptop creates an infrastructure hotspot or hack your nexus. The first you can probably achieve by purchasing a usb WiFi stick that can create an infrastruture hotspot. An unsatisfying situation, I know....
