Internet speed slower than other devices...

now that I just got Blast! service from Comcast today (along with a DOCIS 3.0 modem). Laptop gets 55Mbs. Nexus 7, just a few feet from the router, gets only the old speeds of around 22-24Mbs. this is NOT an issue of 5Ghz wifi vs 2.4, as my laptop gets 55Mbs on either channel. Ideas? oh, also, the ping is much slower. laptop is 10ms. N7 is 21. inferior wifi chip??

BTW, I'm using Speedtest to the same local server as when testing my laptop. Two servers in my town give differing results, so I made sure that the N7 is using the same reliable server that I always check my lappy's speed with.

Interesting to say the least. I also have Comcast and a fairly new Docsis 3.0 Motorola modem. Laptop gets around 34mbps with my package and my GNex grabs high 20's on Wi-Fi so not bad and that's not even on 5 ghz connection.

Sounds like something hardware related, maybe even software limiting on the Nexus 7

Ah. So u get the same speed on the n7 as I do. Maybe the next nexus tablet will have a louder speaker , a more colorful screen, and better wifi speed. Oh yeah and much higher resolution. I can see jaggies on text
