    Default WiFi radio problem

A problem has developed in the last couple of weeks on my Nexus 7. The WiFi radio seems to be acting up, with a much weaker connection then my Galaxy Nexus sitting right next to it, and sometimes when I do a speed test there is no up speed at all. What could the problem be and, short of flashing the new radio, what can I do?

Have you tried rebooting your Nexus 7 as well as your router? If these approaches don't work, there might be a loose connection. Check out this thread--there's a description on how to pop open the back cover to access the wifi antenna:

Ok, I figured it out. I had dropped it a couple of days ago in the back cover had popped off and when I snapped it back on I left one corner loose and the connectors to the WiFi radio were not solid. So I reseated the back cover and everything seems to be fine now.

Ah, we cross posted, and you were right, it was the connection, and even better, it was just my own failure to snap it back together, so the connections themselves were not bad.

Cool, glad you figured it out! Perhaps it's time to get a case for that baby ...

I had a case, but then I got the dock and the case won't fit. And I was going on about how it was perfectly save in the house!
