Screen shots - can't seem to do it

I read that I can take screen shots of my N7 by holding down the on/off button and volume button at the same time, but nothing happens when I do this, except the volume goes up or down?

Is there any secret, or tips, for how to take a screen shot?

It takes practice. First hold down the power button and then press and hold the volume DOWN button (while still holding the power button) until you hear a shutter sound.

I have better luck if I simultaneously quickly push down on the left end of the power button and the right end of the volume button.(in landscape mode) but it takes practise.
