4.3 update has left my n7 with issues and I can't get into recovery mode...

so that I can at least try to wipe the partition cache. I used to be able to do that on earlier OS.

here's what happens:

1. tablet OFF
2. hit vol UP and DOWN and POWER simultaneously
3. vol UP until I see "recovery" on screen.
4. hit POWER to select
5. next thing I see is the green dude on his back with "no command" and the screen stays stuck there. Have to long press POWER to reboot.

ie, I no longer see the familiar options to go into recovery, followed by "wipe partition cache" as one of the options.

That's because you lost your custom recovery. You have to push the custom recovery back to your device, if you were rooted, and were able to keep root through the update, download https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...tails?id=com.cgollner.flashify&token=XzTqDO2X , download your favorite custom recovery to your device, and use flashify to flash it. You will then be able to use your custom recovery again.

ah. yes. thats it! wow, that's a convoluted process and one that I have been googling for a while! THANKS!!!

I just wrote myself a word doc describing this so I can access it in the future, if needed. LOL!
