Nexus 7 (2012) Android 4.4 to 4.4.2

Just to clarify, I have a Unrooted Nexus 7 that I wish to keep that way. Well I am getting the Error message like so many others. I have performed a reset (thru settings) and a hard reset too (to no avail). I contacted Google support about this problem and surprisingly they have not heard about the issue (uh huh). They had me perform the hard reset and I told them the result (Error). Well their suggestion was to transfer me to ASUS Support. Well they were surprised that Google woulld transfer me to them. Well their solution was for me to send my Nexus 7 to them and they would let me know whether they could fix the problem (and what the cost would be) or just send it back to me. I decided to keep it and wait for someone smarter than myself to figure out what the solution is. One thing i've noticed is when it downloads the 4.4.2 file it is only 38.7 mb. I thought the update was bigger (could this be the problem)?

I would just try to flash the factory image no root needed for that. It will wipe the device, just an fyi

Go here for the 4.4.2 image though (the guide uses a 4.3 image)
