    Default Problem with epub file

My daughter has the google nexus 7 and I have downloaded a few epubs already for her which have worked fine in play books. I downloaded one today but just keep getting the message 'can't open file'. I'm at a loss as to why. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What app are you using to read the epubs?

Have you tried any other apps to open the file? There are plenty of apps that support epub.

    I believe 'Nook' supports epub.

Yes I have a couple of other epub readers, but it doesn't give me the option to open it in any app, just says can't open file.

Also tried to download it on my husbands galaxy tab 3 and that only offers to open it in memo or s-planner and obviously that does nothing

    Go to settings > Apps
on the top right touch the button with three dots.
    and select "reset app preferences"
Now when you try to open the file it should let you select the app to open it with.
