Nexus 7 Battery Charger is both slow and sometimes drains battery WHILE shut off
This is my first time posting here so I'm not sure if there is a specific thread where I'm supposed to post this in so just letting you guys know.
Alright, so here's my dilemma:
I got a new charger for my Nexus 7 a few months ago after my first one broke (both specifically worked for this phone) and its been working great. It charged very quickly and I was also satisfied.
A few months later, my charger starts wiggling inside the port; still no biggie.
Fast forward to two weeks ago and my battery started charging slower and slower everyday, noticeably so (becoming 10% per hour instead of approx. 20%). Then I decided to look for tips about this problem.
The next week is where the real problem begins: the charger slowed to a snail's pace, and sometime didn't charge at all; in fact, sometimes it drained my battery down.
For example, both today and yesterday my battery was at 14%. I decided to turn it off and wait an hour with the charger on before turning it back on. it went DOWN to 3%! Not only that, an overnight charge (typically 8-10 hours) now gets me about 40-50% (a little more if I'm "lucky").
I figured it might be the Nexus 7 itself that was causing the problem so I downloaded the latest android update yesterday, but that didn't seem to be the case. I don't think the charger has to do much with this because I've always kept it in tidy place, never tangled up nor stepped on; and the fact that I've tried nearly every tip in the book relating to the Nexus charger but none of them seemed to work.
I plan on just getting a new battery for the Nexus 7, but I wonder if there can be something else that I can do about this. Its rather aggravating tbh, but I'll live with it if I have to, until there's a proper solution.
Tl;dr, my charging seems to be malfunctioning, help & tips would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
