Help Decide between 2012/2013 Nexus 7

I own the Nexus 7 2012 32gb model, and absolutely love it. It's had its issues though. The motherboard needed to be replaced and now the mini usb port is dying. So I'm in the market for another unit. Locally I can choose between the 32gb 2012 model that I have for $160, and the 16gb 2013 model for $150. I don't buy online, so these are my two choices (have the cash in hand).

Should I go for the newer model with half the storage or the model that I currently use? Also the camera isn't a deciding factor as I never use it anyway.

Are you into gaming? 2012 model has the Tegra chip in it for Tegra based games, 2013 doesn't.

Guess next question would be storage. Is 16 GB an issue?

The 2013 N7 is markedly faster and smoother than the 2012 (I have both), so as long as you don't require the full 32 GB of storage, I'd suggest the 2013 for pure performance.

EDIT: But Paul627g makes a good point about the Tegra chip. Still, the Snapdragon in the 2013 is no slouch!

I use it mainly for gaming/streaming video/internet browsing.

My gaming runs from GI Joe Battleground, which I play constantly, to things like Bards Tale, Gangstar Vegas, Modern Combat 4, Order&Chaos Online, GTA3.

Didn't think to consider that the newer model might have an issue with my gaming, was mostly concerned about the 16gb vs 32gb...Will the 2013 model be able to play those games?

Maybe not very important but my son had to replace his 2012 and bought a 2013. He really misses the textured back of the 2012. 2013 just too slick.

I ran out of time, had to decide by 5pm on what I was going to do. Ended up going to best buy and getting another 2012 32gb model for $149.99. Going to actually have to return it tomorrow though. The screen has a bad yellow tint to it. My original 2012 32gb model has bright crisp whites. Side by side the one I bought today is Really yellow.

From a quick look in the Google Play store you should be fine with the 2013 model on the games you listed. However it is sometimes tricky to know which will be rejected by the model due to the Tegra chip (2012) or the Adreno chip in the (2013) model.

The Tegra 3 being great for gaming is more or less a marketing stunt by Nvidia ;-) I have/had both versions of the tablet and games on the 2013 model run faster and look better, even the so called "Tegra optimized" ones. To put that into perspective, look for a little app called Monjori Shader Benchmark and run it: 14 fps on the old model, 62 on the new one.
