Why is my Nexus 7 saying I have a strong wifi connection but won't connect me to the internet?

My nexus 7 says I have a strong wifi connection but won't connect me to the internet.

Tried it on various wifis and still won't work. Installed an update it downloaded last night, no change. The settings says it is an excellent connection but the little bars at the top are empty and I cannot connect it. Please help?

Have you restarted the device lately?

Have you forgotten and reconnected to the WiFi network since the update?

There are a lot of threads out there about this a brief search came up with this thread and solution;

SOLUTION :

ENTER THE WIFI PASSWORD AREA !!
ADVANCE SETTINGS
ADD THE DHCP SETTINGS MANUALLY....set an ip like 192.168.1.5...give the rest of the values manually.
apply./..
you should be able to login !!

Thank you sooooooo much! I was getting so frustrated with my Nexus 7 and kept searching everywhere for a fix. Setting the connection to use static IP instead of DHCP seemed to have fixed this.
