When I was on KitKat and I would boot my device the home screen would display and then the screen would go to sleep almost immediately and I would have to press the power button to get the screen to display again. I would have to do this once or twice upon booting to get to the point where I would be able to use the device. With Lollipop this behavior has been far worse than what I previously experienced and now requires me to press the power button about 5 times before I can use the device. In addition the device seemed really slow upon booting to the point where I really couldn't use it for about 5 minutes after booting. I flushed the app cache and that seemed to help the performance a bit and by adjusting the Display sleep timer from 15 seconds to 5 minutes the screen going black problem has been resolved but I'm wondering if this is the behavior that others are seeing and if there is anything else that I can do to improve boot time and performance?
