Why does my Nexus 7 usb keep disconnecting and reconnecting?

My nexus 7 usb keep disconnecting and reconnecting

I have an nexus 7 2012 and when I plug in my device to my computer, it connects then disconnects many times. I tried to use a different cable, still I still have that issue. My os is windows 8. Please respond

Welcome to Android Central! Make sure there isn't any debris lodged in the microUSB port. If it's clean, then the port itself might be faulty (or have a loose connection internally).

Does this happen when you connect other devices such as flash drives to the USB ports on your PC?

In Control Panel>Device Manager>Universal Serial Bus Controller>USB Root Hub do you have "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" checked? If so, you might want to uncheck it.
