This was one of the few things I missed on the original. Anyone know if the new tablet has it?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say it doesn't. That would require more parts and Google tries to cut cost down as much as possible. It's not a phone, so they don't deem it that important of a feature.

My dads old Galaxy tab does, but that thing is so old and slow, that it doesn't matter anyways...

The new hisense zero pro does and that is as budget as it gets. Not having haptic feedback on a tablet really sucks IMHO.

Really? That's weird, I'd understand haptic but not vibration on a tablet

Baltic uses vibration. Can't do one without the other.

There are so many tabs that vibrate. I how no idea how you came up with this conclusion! How can you be so sure about something that is totally untrue?

Tablets that people actually use, or random crap made by companies no one cares about?

I was thinking the same. It seems that the trend is towards no vibrate motor in the popular tablets.

I remember that my old Acer A500 had vibration. But the main purpose for vibrate on phones is for silent notifications, which is impractical for tablets, since you're unlikely to have them stuffed in your pants pocket. On a tablet, the main reason for vibrate would be for gaming, I would guess.

They have vibrate on the note 10.1 2014. I don't think it's so useless but I do prefer silent.

That's last years, the new note announced yesterday is the note pro, which also has vibration as does the whole new line of pro tablets which by the way look like game changing tablets.

Not such a game changer, except you'll be lugging around a 12.2 inch behemoth. The specs are essentially the same as the 10.1 2nd ed,, with the addition of a Remote PC feature. I don't see much market for an android tablet of this size. But time will tell.

I was talking about the 8.4" version. Who would want a 12"tablet?

I think the 8.4" galaxy pro tablet will be a HUGE success IF they can price it competitively.

I sure hope that the designers aren't as sure against vibration as our resident trolls; there are all kinds of reasons why a silent alarm might be useful, and the OS supports it, so why not? For me, it would be a backup for an important daily reminder that I didn't hear last night because I didn't know my daughter had turned off the sound... and no, my Dell Venue 7 does not appear to have the option... and yes, next time I'm in the market, I'll be looking for a tablet that does...

Welcome to Android Central. Please avoid referring to other members as trolls, even if you think it's in a joking manner. It often isn't taken kindly, and is against the forum guidelines.

As for the issue of vibration in tablets, I can think of another possible reason why it isn't common--for a vibration motor to be effective on a large tablet, it would have to use significantly more energy to generate enough vibration to be felt easily. Manufacturers might make a decision not to include one because of this. Just speculation on my part.
