Just got the new N7 and it is great (annoyed MX Player and Dice do not work yet but that is to be expected)
Now I have a Skiva MHL Micro USB to HDMI connector from my wife's phone. It does not work at all. So I was not sure if it is just because it is not made by Slimport or what.

What I want is to mirror the tablet to the TV for videos (using a video player that utilizes a Pogoplug app, lets go Dice and MX) and maybe some gaming.

The options now are as follows:

The Slimport brand adapter Amazon.com: SlimPort? SP1002; Connect mobile devices to any big screen. High Speed micro USB (male) to HDMI (female) connector cable (4.26cm x 2.21cm x 0.99cm)-Supports Full HD and 3D at 1080p @60Hz, 24bpp: Electronics ($30)

OR this Belkin Univeral Wireless HD adapter: Amazon.com : Belkin Universal Wireless HDTV Adapter : Electronics ($30)

Does anyone know if this thing works for this. Someone commented that Miracast works on the tablet, but I have never used it, nor have any Miracast receivers.

Also: I noticed in the settings an option to turn on "Wireless Displays" any insight into what that is would be appreciated. Thank you.

To be sure I am not very familiar with the video options for Slimport. However, why not just use a Chromecast? From my limited reading (while I wait for mine from the Play Store), it is made for what you are trying to do.

I ordered this it's supposed to be here Monday. This one is supposed to work but I will be doing some testing with it and will let you know. This is one of the main reasons I upgraded to mirror what's on my tablet to the tv so hopefully this one works.

Actually, Chromecast has some lag that would make it no good for games - you can even clearly see the lag in the announcement video, where the playback on the Chromecast is probably a good second behind the device. I got my Chromecast yesterday & love it so far, but it's not the solution for the OP, if for no other reason than the mentioned gaming.

I actually could not get my nexus 7 FHD to work with the slimport hdmi adapter. I tried 3 different HDMI brands (Rose-will, Monster, Amazon basic)

The only time i got anything was with the rose-will HDMI cable and the screen just went black for a few seconds then i got a not supported message floating around a blue screen.

I really hope there's nothing wrong with my tablet and its just the adapter that is faulty any insight to my problems would be much appreciated!!!

Alright, ended up getting the slimport I originally posted for $30. Works great, played NOVA3 for a while with a BT gamepad I ordered and stream movies to my TV with out issue. It seems to be the best option for now.

And no, the original N7 does not support any mirroring so the slimport will not work for the 2012 model.

Side note: found out the Xfinity app will not stream movies while slimport is connected. It says that you need to disconnect the secondary display first, bummer.

Had same issues. The Slimport SP1002 is $70 (your link), not $30. Any idea why the price is so different now? Really want to mirror on the big screen via cable. Tried a different brand tonight and it didn't work at all. Hate to pay $70. May as well buy the Nexus 10.

If you have a display that support Miracast that would definately be a good option without having to buy any additional cables.
