So I got my new Nexus 7 FHD "woot woot" and while I was transferring my apps over from my google play, I was able to installed all needed app with the exception of my Netflix app. It gave me the "package file is invalid" error. I cleared all the cache files and data, etc, but as it turns out, now I am unable to installed netflix in all my devices, both my S3 and My N7. what's the deal? Any ideas?

It appears many people are receiving this error... myself included.

How about force stopping the package installer?

You can also try rebooting your phone.

It appears that many user including myself are having issues downloading certain apps from the play store and receive Error 497 or "package file is invalid" . The issue appears to only affect user on WIFI and not users on data. Many apps such as chrome or Google plus will get the 497 error after downloading and attempting to install.Doing a full wipe of the phone or even downgrading does not fix the issue. This is mainly affecting nexus devices many that have manually upgraded to 4.3.10 play store or the accounts of the these user on their other devices. This is why it is believed to be a Android Device Manager issue because play services pushes this to the devices. I have included a link to the XDA Thread. If you are having an issue please reply to this thread and the one on XDA it would be nice to draw attention to this issue.

Yeah they don't have a clue right now. Every day it's something new first it's rebooting. Now the play store is messed up can't even download Netflix at all called them last night and they sent all the notes from my call to a specialist. Hope they sort this stuff out. I never had a issue with my old nexus 7 and my new one has been anything but buttery!

I had a feeling this was a known issue, but I was hoping it was related to 4.3. From the range of devices I've seen, it is not.

Actually, funny enough, I'm only getting the errors while on mobile data with my Nexus 4. Connecting to my home WIFI network resolves it. This is happening on AT&T AND T-mobile for me. I downloaded the factory images last night and pushed them back to my phone through fastboot and haven't restored any of my data backed up via Helium yet. Yesterday I was getting it on my AT&T Postpaid service contract SIM. Today I am getting it on my T-mobile $30 a month SIM.

For me it seems to only be when updating apps, I don't believe I have had a problem when installing new apps, though I just turned my T-mobile SIM on today so I haven't done much of anything besides stream music and try to update the Google Play Books app through T-mobile's data network.

Another interesting point is that when I connected through a VPN yesterday (the hideman VPN app if anyone is curious) on AT&T I was able to update apps no problem (other than insanely slow speeds of course).

Hope this is useful for someone, for now I'm hoping it's just a hickup with 4.3 as I didn;t have this problem before the update pushed.

100% stock rom right now with an unlocked bootloader. I had been rooted before the 4.3 push and didn't both re-rooting yet and had the issue both ways.

Did a search & noticed others were having the same issue - various devices & ISPs. A suggestion I saw worked. I went to Settings<Device administrators & unchecked Android device manager.

I had this issue, on my Galaxy Nexus, a few days ago. I uninstalled the apps that needed to be updated, performed a reboot, updated said apps, and all is well.

Brother, your guess is as good as ours. If someone had a quick fix for this, we'd all be using it. Just hang in there for a bit and it will get resolved.
