Default How to use Google now to send text on my Nexus 7

I send text all the time using Google now on my phone but when I try to my Nexus 7 by saying send text to blah blah blah, Google now give me the message that "this device cannot perform the action you requested" although I can manually send text messages via Google Voice...

Is there any way to get Google now to recognize that I can send text on my Nexus 7? BTW I have a wifi only version...

do you have a Sim card or pay a monthly bill to a network provider on your nexus 7. I'll advise you to install a phone I'm your nexus 7 and buy a connection...

Look into a free app called Mighty Text -- once it is installed to your phone, tablet and/or computer, you'll be able to send texts from all those devices.

This works with the HTC One without a hitch. Try clearing defaults for Google Voice, then try Now again.
