Well, this can happen only to me. I just purchased mint Nexus 7 used and was going to put my TMobile SIM card in, and instead of sticking the tool to eject Sim card tray , I punched through the microphone hole. And now my mic doesn't work. Anybody has any idea what I should do?

Thanks, but these are all instructions and parts for last year Nexus. I can't find anything except the first link about 2013 Nexus. I am looking now if the microphone parts are the same. I also thought the Nexus had 2 microphones. Right now I have none working.

One mic listens to you and the other listens to the room to cancel out noise. Which one got injured?

At the end of this video it shows the removal of the mic...to give you an idea of what the part looks like. About the 7:10 mark.

Thanks buddy, will try to fix it myself. Shouldn't be a huge problem. I already have all the tools and was fixing iPhones left and right before.

Well, you get a new Nexus 7 LTE. You're all excited and you start poking around with the pokey doohickey and then it's like, "Ooooops, wrong hole."

Hi

Well, happened the same to me. Found this:

ipaqrepair.co.uk/view_product.php?product=3685

or

asusparts.eu/en/Asus-08301-00900000

Both would cost me £30.

So, I ordered a small USB mic and adapter

amazon.co.uk/dp/B00JPAXRYM/ref=pe_385721_37038051_TE_3p_dp_1
amazon.co.uk/dp/B009DFCCKO/ref=pe_385721_37038051_TE_3p_dp_1

but I can just use it for recording, as do not know how to force it to work in Skype or Upptalk applications.

If you had any idea, let me know.
