Looked everywhere for a bulk delete but can't find any way. Am not using Gmail. Am using BTinternet...if that makes any difference!
Trash is now at 603 and really a bit much!
I would be grateful for any help. Thanks.

Bulk delete is a function of your email service, not the device...GMail has it, not sure if your provider does.

Use K-9 mail app. You can bulk delete. IPhone 4s can bulk delete on same service (Comcast) as my N7 and N5.

Probably all know this by now-- but on Nexus 7 go up to top right of deleted emails screen, where the three mini dots are-- click that-- you will see "settings" option-- click that and choose 3rd option( forget what its called)-- deleted emails will all vanish !!---worked for me !!
