Default Android File Transfer not working with Mavericks

    Hello,
I am running into an issue after Installing Mavericks where Android File Transfer doesn't recognize my Nexus 7 WiFi (2013 edition). It recognized Samsung Galaxy S3 just fine. I have tried reinstalling AFT as well as using different cables (including the one shipped with Nexus) and different USB ports as well as PC's. Connecting to the devices shows my device charging but does not allow for file transfer. Currently, I am only using Air-Droid which is extremely slow compared to the former. Any suggestions/recommendations?Thanks.

Well, try restarting your PC as well as your device it should work !! if the restarting doesn't help i am sure some message might be popping out on your mac showing some issue.

There are so many apps out there - are you referring to Android File Transfer: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...dwifitransfert
    - I've used WiFi File Explorer Pro: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ileExplorerPRO (there's also a free version) without issues.

And what is this 'Mavericks' app that you're referring to? Can you provide a link? (This Share Apps http://market.android.com/details?id...gers.shareapps is a great way to generate links for what you're referencing.) Or is that something on the computer side?

Can't help with your issue, as Android File Transfer seems to work fine for me, but I can provide a link to Mavericks for GSDer. You want to go to www.apple.com/osx/

I'm confused - on the one hand you're talking about using AFT and on the other hand you're talking about using cables and USB ports. Are you trying to use AFT and a web browser, or are you trying to use cables and MTP mode on the phone?

I don't know how OSX Mavericks deals with the necessary drivers for devices, but perhaps it hasn't been updated to support this device - you'd have to take that up with Apple.

As far as AFT is concerned, the browser in Mavericks shouldn't care what device it's talking to. But there are lots of similar apps that you can try.

The application that runs on the Mac that talks to the android device is called Android File Transfer. When you connect your android device to your mac via a usb cable, it launches AFT, and from there you can transfer files back and forth, etc. This does work on Mavericks. The reason he's switching the usb cables around, I assume, is in case one of them is broken.
