Strange blue screen defect on Nexus 7 2013?

On my Nexus 7 (2013) I have two strange defects. They are like little blue glowing smudges, mostly visible on darker colors displayed on the screen. It is most certainly hardware related, but I don't know how to get rid of it. Any help?

There could be damage to the lcd screen. Is there a negative effect on the way that part of the screen handles input?

I have the exact same problem. I had it on my old N7 2013, sent it back to Amazon after about 5 months, the problem has also developed on my replacement N7, but its less severe, only the 1 blue blob as opposed to 3 or 4 that it was before, so I've just left it, I can only notice it when the brightness is high on a dark screen. Not sure what causes it.
