Why can't I select the front camera on my Nexus 7 (2013) using Android 5?

My new Nexus 7 (2013) - bought a few weeks ago - worked fine straight out of the box.
There was an option to select front or rear camera.

Then the s/w upgraded to Android 5.0.2

The front camera is no longer an option. Only the rear camera will work.
And the "Gallery" app has disappeared.

Any idea when Google might get a fix for this problem?

And is it possible to go back to a previous Android version?

I'll have to check mine out when I get home, I haven't messed around with the camera since updating to 5.0.2. As for the gallery I don't know this forsure but my guess would be that since its a Google product that they might have just switched everything to "Photos"

In the open camera app, there is a set of 3 dots on the lower right that if touched opens 3 icons for timer, grid, and changing camera to front or back. Gallery is gone from Lollipop, you have to use the "Photos" app or a 3rd party app.
