Hi all,

While receiving update to 5.0.2 notification, I downloaded and installed, but error occurred:

'/system/fonts/Roboto-Light.TTF' has unexpected contents
E: Error in /cache/update. zip
(status 7)
Installation aborted.

Then I did factory reset, still error occurred as the attached picture.

Currently still working with version 4.4.4

Any suggestions or ideas will be very much appreciated.

Has the tablet ever been unlocked and rooted?

If further attempts to sideload the OTA package fail you maybe forced into unlocking your bootloader, flashing the factory images to bump it up to 5.0.2

Thank you for the info.

Yes, the tablet was rooted using towelroot.

Is there any simple way to unroot this device?

Thank you again.

Welcome to the forums!

Most straightforward solution would be, as Paul suggested above, to unlock the bootloader and flash the stock firmware. You could use something like Nexus Root Toolkit to simplify the process.

That explains the error. I'm going to guess you removed or replaced some things using root and that is why you got the status 7 error.

As GSDer suggested your best move would be to flash the factory images from Google to update to 5.0.2. Then you can always root again and continue onward as you please.

Thank you so much GSDer and Paul627g, eventually it's successfully done.

Can I not to do OEM Lock? Cause the warranty for this device is due 2 months ago.

Thank you again.

Sure you can do the factory image flash to move up to 5.0.2 and turn around and lock it back up if you wish. Whatever suits you best, its a NEXUS :)
