Looking to buy my 8 yr old daughter a tablet for Xmas . I am a nexus fan Wondering what would be best choice? She would be Watching YouTube ,streaming movies from amazon prime,Google play movies and playing games... i See the 2012 is only $149. On amazon but 16gb. How much memory would. Be available with that? They also have a 2013 32gb refurbished for $121.0

It sounds like, based on your post, that the 2013 model is cheaper with more storage, but is refurbished.

For the extra $30, I would get the 2013 model. It's a newer device with more RAM and a better processor and still one of the better 7 inch tablets today.

I've been wondering about what I'd replace my 2 year old nexus 7 (2013) when it stops working, best gadget I've ever owned and still fine after 2 years of daily use. Last month I picked up a lenovo s8 8" tab for £100 (US prices are probably lower ) 32gb and an sd card slot with 2 year warranty for my son and it's brilliant, not much bigger, fhd screen and thin and light. I just hope a new nexus 7 is launched at some point as I'm not sure buying a 2 or 3 year old end of life tab makes sense to be honest.

I also love my 2013 nexus 7. I might keep it till it breaks,etc. But buy may wait and see what tablet they bring out next year

I have been very pleased with my 7, it's been on the road with me for 2 years. I have no desire to replace it it works perfect for what I need.
