General Overview

The Nexus 7 is the Seven inch tablet from Google Built by Asus. It is Google's First attempt at a tablet. Their is something that Google and Asus have done with this tablet that makes it a device that stands out from the crowd. One of the biggest things is that it is part of Google's Nexus line, This means that it gets software updates from Google's Android Open Source Project Or AOSP quickly in fact the nexus line gets updates months ahead of other devices.
The Hardware on the Nexus 7 is that of a Device that typically costs two to three hundred dollars more, For an example of this we can look at Asus's Transformer Pad series of tablets Which can cost on average of 500-600 dollars for it's TF700 series, When you compare this to The Nexus 7(wifi only) for 199 and 250 dollars. The 199 is the Sixteen Gigabyte Model, However for another 50 Dollars you can pick up a 32 Gigabyte Version. Google and Asus will soon be offering a 299 dollar 32 Gigabyte model with 3G connectivity.

This tablet brings some extremely impressive hardware for the Price.

The RAM is an impressive 1 Gigabyte. This ensures a smooth and enjoyable user experience .The Camera is a 1.2 Mega Pixel front facing camera. The voice search provides answer's to many of your questions. It will tell you anything from when a show premiered, What the weather looks like for the following week, when your favorite Sport's team is playing. It will also set alarms, and bring up image results this saves you time because you will receive the most correct answer that is available quickly, this is a useful tool when doing research and you don't want to take the time to search for the answer manually however their are certain thing's that voice search will be unable to find, this is a minor annoyance but does not occur so often as to make it a major problem.

Google Now

This is something fairly amazing. It will tell you something without you having to ask, once you get it set up and specify what you would like it to tell you ,This will automatically bring up the next game your favorite sports team is playing and if they are currently playing in a game, what the score is. It will Give you directions to work or,back home from where ever you currently are. It will keep track of your latest shipments, by getting the info from your email. This is a great feature and one i use often.

Android Beam

This is something that allows you to share picture and video files, contacts, simply by bumping two devices with Android Beam (NFC) together. This is much quicker than sharing files through email. This is a very useful feature however it is dependent on your friends and family having compatible devices. This feature comes in handy especially for people who are on the go and need to share pictures and media files often.

Conclusion

The Nexus 7 is an amazing device and is well worth the money. I have found it to be the most enjoyable and well built android tablet i have ever owned, And for a 32 Gigabyte model for 250 Dollars where could you go wrong. The android tablet system is gaining momentum and this is by far the leader in the seven inch tablet in it's price point. This tablet will get you a lot for 250 dollars.
