Well, crap. If they start shipping the first wave of pre-orders on the 12th (of which my order should be included), then I'm leaving town the next day.

Guess I'd better get the neighbors to check my doorstep every day while I'm gone. Guess I'll get some Nexus 7 goodness after I return!

Check your Google Play account as see if you have any new activity I just checked mine and 3 books are ready for my new device. I presume its pre-loaded content. If so we could be looking at it shipping as early as tomorrow.

You just convinced me to order from Staples. With free shipping and my staples rewards it was cheaper and I get a 16gb. My delivery date is also the 17th. I just have to cancel my 8gb order from Google.

It's said that if you order was in by June 29th that you would be part of the 1st wave of shipping. Plus us who have pre-ordered by June 29th now see three books in our Google Play account that come pre-loaded on the device.

Gamestop says the second wave will be Aug 7th

Maybe they are still preparing the 1st wave so by today or tomorrow maybe it will show on your account as well.

You keep saying the Play's store's cutoff date is June 29th. Where are you getting this information from?

Google might be preparing orders tonight and tomorrow. Shipping them tomorrow, so if you don't see the books yet you should soon.

Doesn't show any books, but that doesn't surprise me (I already have a Google account, so no need to load up any defaults). However, the N7 does show up as ordered.

My online credit card transactions history doesn't show anything yet, but it did initially get a pre-authorized charge that was temporarily pending for a day (and subsequently disappeared, which was normal according to the Google rep that responded to my query).

If they do indeed start shipping tomorrow, that would be fantastic! That means that I'd get it in time to take it with me when I travel later in the week. Guess we'll all know very soon, as I'm sure someone will post up as soon as they see theirs shipped.

No it won't come under our devices in the play store until we activate it under our google accounts. That's why I couldn't naturally order these three free books because you need a device activated to download books, apps, music and video.

Joe, Im just speculating here, but if the release date is 7/12, I suspect your unit will show up on 7/12. Im in the same traveling boat as you. Hoping to see mine on 7/12.

When I order mine it asked if I wanted to auto activate it to my Google account (which is exactly what Amazon does when you buy a Kindle (any of them)). To answer the question if the device shows in your list of devices, it does not. (At lease not for me at this moment).

I ordered my N7 8GB through the play store on June 28th. No charges to my card yet.

Shipping from California to Buffalo is probally going to take the full amount of time so Im guessing I won't see the tablet until friday or later.

This is replacing my Xoom, very excited to use the smaller form factor on the go. The Xoom is just a little to big for anything but surfing while on the couch IMO.

I think we will all see them on the same day. I doubt that Google is actually doing the fulfillment. I bought a Google Nexus phone for my son and it was shipped via UPS 2nd day which showed up the next day. The package originated from Louisville, KY where is where UPS has their air hub (Fedex is in Memphis). Most companies outsource their fulfillment to UPS and Fedex (among others). I used to do some contract work for the logistics group at UPS in Louisville.

I have three books, pride and prejudice was one of them. I don't think they have anything to do with ordering the nexus tablet though.
