Yes it was charged you will receive the item. It was to prevent the hold charge from hanging on there.

yeah sorry! I am new to the forum and i just tried searching for info on this.... but i am really excited, I just ordered my first nexus phone and my nexus 7 this weekend after a long 5 years with iOS.. hopefully the change is good

Well I feel like a fool. I wrote their customer service an email telling them how unhappy I was that they cancelled my order without telling me. Although I must say listing the order as cancelled doesn't seem like the best way of accomplishing what they're trying to do.

I'm having somewhat of the same problem you did. But my order has status as "researching". Anyone else encounter this???

I had the "Researching" status too but then it changed to "Processing". Then it changed to "Cancelled", was pissed before I read this thread lol.

Now mine says canceled too. If it wouldn't be for this thread I would of freaked out. I hope things are still good as they say. They need to choose another word instead of "cancelled". Otherwise they will get many phone calls from angry/worried customers.

The funny thing is, despite their efforts to do all of this so the charge doesn't sit on a customer's card, my transaction has been on the card the whole time. As long as sometime next week and I have a Nexus in my hand I really don't care, but the whole thing just seems strange to me.

That's for freaking sure. I just checked on mine and saw it cancelled. I called their CS and was told they didn't expect to many people to order so their website went "wonky" (yes their words!) and so in order to fix their problem on THEIR end they canceled all their orders! And this is my/our fault how? So she tells me to call back on the 15th - it was supposed to be here on the 13th. I'm po'd to the max. There had to be a better way to handle this. So now the phone lines are prolly gonna be super busy so I won't be able to get through and then I'll be put back at the end of the line ... GRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!

On the plus side, after I sorted out that "cancelled" nonsense with customer support - yup, definitely should have come here first hehe - I did get this nice little nugget of info:

As per our managment the 7/18 [estimated arrival date] date should be correct. The item is expected to go live on our site on 7/15 or 7/16. If it does go live 7/15 you could expect it a day sooner. As soon as the order is processed again, you will get a tracking number with an accurate shipping timeframe.

Thank you for this opportunity to respond to your inquiry.

So I (and presumably others) have to wait until Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. Meh. Probably worth it.

Mine has been pending this whole time too. Whatever I don't care either as long as I get the tablet soon as promised.

Cancelled mine this afternoon. My hold order said i would receive on 7/13/12. Then i called to checkup. The sales tells me they're not receiving shipments till 7/12/12. Chances are i won't get it till next week. Then i called back because they sent another letter explaining the hold process showing cancelled orders. I called again this time i'm told that they wont get their stock till 7/15/12. I told them cancel me. It seems they are not even sure when they are going to be able to do anything. It will hit stores soon, or i rather just order from google and get it in a week.

Me too. Originally had the 17th as delivery date (ordered it on the 9th after Google cancelled the order my wife placed and wouldn't resubmit it) so overall still on pace for expected timeframe. I am happy....albeit impatient!

I got that email today too. They probably are just sending it out now because of all the calls they must be getting. Which is why they should have sent that email out right away before they put our status to "cancelled". Of all the words to use, seriously what did they expect for us to just be like, "oh my order says cancelled, everything's fine".

It seems like the buzz around the rumor mill is that Staples won't begin shipping any orders until at least the 16th. I guess in hindsight I should have went with GS.
