Re: Simply - Yes or No? Google screwed up this release.
Yes.
If it was a tomdickandharryseller.com, i wouldnt have had any high expectations. Its google we are talking about. I see them as being at the same level as Amazon and Apple, and expect nothing less than what I expect from those. Yes, even with those companies, there is a defective item, or a missed delivery here and there. But not this blatant, obvious and widespread, where they seem to have no clue. Google has all kinds of freakin algorithms for search for godsakes, I cant believe they couldnt implement a simple FIFO algorithm for their preorders

Yes, even after finally sending out a status email. They should have processed them in order, not having people that ordered them in June being the last to receive them. I for one will never order any hardware from Google Play again.

Google clarifies shipping dates for remaining Nexus 7 orders | Android Central
Does anybody still think that Google didn't screw up the launch?
Where are all the folks who said this launch wasn't screwed up and ardently defended Google? They are now talking about delays of weeks in markets like Canada.Last edited by keithz; 07-17-2012 at 08:35 PM.

Re: Simply - Yes or No? Google screwed up this release.
A resounding yes. The e-mail update was around 3 days too late. I ordered June 27th and that made no difference. I could have ordered July 10th by that e-mail update.
I went out and picked one up at Staples. They ARE allowed to sell and were in the process of setting up their display. I'll refuse the shipment.
What's even worse? Is where they changed the wording of the shipping info from "All" pre-orders will ship by Tuesday (today) to "Many" without any mandatory e-mails going out. That shipping info going out as a mandatory e-mail to every order when it changed would have really helped out the bad feelings. To me, it was a weasel move, to make that change after having a recorded message that stated "Tuesday". That recorded message was most likely what 95% of the people heard about the shipping, not refreshing the shipping "info" link.Last edited by Tom S.; 07-17-2012 at 10:02 PM.
