Who has to send theirs back? Why?
Okay I'll start. just got off the phone with Google. Mine has to go back because the speaker doesn't function. Otherwise it arrived in pretty good shape. Anyone else with the same issue?
How about you? Why is your Nexus 7 going back to Google? (Technical issues only, not because you wanted to pick one up at Gamestop or whatever.) - 07-17-2012, 08:09 PM #2
Re: Who has to send theirs back? Why?
Got one from Staples after I got bored waiting for my 6/27 order to even give me a shipping date. Was planning on just rejecting the Play order, but had to return the Staples N7 because of the left side screen rise problem (sponginess/noise was never going to not annoy me) and some pretty significant ghosting. So now I'm back to waiting.

I had to take mine back to Sam's Club due to constant freezing / restarting. I'm debating whether I will get another one.

I'm not sure I need to send it back, but the silver edge on the left side of the tablet seems to have been dropped as there's a slight dent about halfway down. Anyone else see this as well or do most people have a straight left edge?

Re: Who has to send theirs back? Why?
I have to return my preorder unit which arrived today because I was too impatient and bought one at Sam's Club on Saturday.

A small crack on the edge of the glass just above the bottom right corner. I am debating whether to send it back. I just spent hours customizing the Nexus.

Which basically renders the device useless..... It was RMA'd today and will hopefully have a new one by the end of the week........

Re: Who has to send theirs back? Why?
Screen is blown-out gray with horrific ghosting as detailed here and I think the left side of the screen may be a little loose. It's damn shame because when the screen manages to "warm up" it's quite lovely and the unit is terrifyingly fast - even faster than my Epic 4G Touch and definitely better than my Transformer.

Re: Who has to send theirs back? Why?
Not sure if I'm going to return it yet, but my screen is also slightly risen/seperated on the bottom left edge. It's more like the silver band is bulging out. If it's only some plastic I don't really care, but if dust is going to affect it...
Anybody have it flush on the left bottom side? - 07-18-2012, 08:14 AM #17

Re: Who has to send theirs back? Why?
Did you deselect the option to have your Google account linked to the device as part of the order? I believe it is selected by default. Because if you chose to have your account link, I'm assuming that they had to take it out to link it and then repackage it. The device is too new for refurbs to be making the rounds.

Re: Who has to send theirs back? Why?
The upper back corner, near the power button, was separating from the unit. I couldn't get the back to snap back on and, even worse, it would cause the entire back to almost come off, exposing the innards. I returned it to Staples. I'm disappointed that the Nexus 7 seems plasticy and and cheap to me. The OS seemed really good, but not the hardware as much.
