Default how to add widgets to home screen

I am not sure how to add widgets to home screen on the Nexus 7.

With my X2 all you need to do is hold down on the home screen and a window will open with various options such as wallpaper and widgets.

But with the Nexus 7, the only options are several wallpaper icons.

I believe in order to add an Extended Controls app widget to the home screen, you need a widget.

So, how to add widgets to home screen?

Go to the app drawer, and there is a tab at the top for all your widgets. You long-press one to add it to your home screen.

I don't believe that works with the Extended Controls app, it works a bit differently than other apps.

At the top of the apps screen, you need to tap on widgets, then you will see all your widgets to scroll through. The power control widget is one of the options. It was one of the first things I added to my screens.
