Re: Was your Nexus 7 defective or in Perfect condition?
Just picked up my 20th Nexus 7 this morning. Defective with screen rise.

Re: Was your Nexus 7 defective or in Perfect condition?
And 21st, this time with NO defects. The serial number was a C70 in the beginning, all the previous ones were C60 something. Crossing my fingers and will update later on today.

Re: Was your Nexus 7 defective or in Perfect condition?
Between my family and I, I've had 4 in hand. The first two were from the 1st batch, the other two were from the 2nd. The first unit we received had screen rise that was so minute that I'd never have noticed it if not for this site. Other than that, all are 100%, and continue to be after countless hours of use.
I did note that the units from the 2nd batch seemed to be slightly brighter, and I found the color accuracy of their displays to be just slightly better (not that those from the 1st batch looked bad at all). - 08-12-2012, 06:51 PM #312
I'm loving mine. No issues whatsoever here. Very solid tablet

More perfect than either of the tablets I had before this one.. ...never had to return any.
For those of you judging the quality of this tablet from this thread. ..don't. B its nature, this thread is designed to attract those with complaints. If you want an objective analysis, check out the user reviews on Amazon. Even though they've overpriced it, it gets 4 1/2 stars out of five.. ...better than any other Android tablet.

Re: Was your Nexus 7 defective or in Perfect condition?
Plenty of people have posted photos here and xda. Are some of the posts bs? I don't know. I am about to be on my third tomorrow. I'll check the screen lift outside the store, and take it back immediately. Right now, it's not that big a deal to be honest. It isn't causing any problems really. However, I don't want to have it for six months and the problems get worse, etc.
Objective analysis from Amazon? I don't think so. I'd give it 5 stars out of actual use that I've done with it, and 3.5 out of quality of the build at this point. - 08-13-2012, 01:59 AM #320

Re: Was your Nexus 7 defective or in Perfect condition?
Lol I said my 21st was fine but it has a permanent VERY small screen rise top left side, I can't budge it, move it and it doesn't make any noises.
The many returns were actually easy and fast, after the first 5 I just opened them right there and did immediate exchange. Love this tablet, especially Google Wallet. - 08-13-2012, 03:05 AM #322

Re: Was your Nexus 7 defective or in Perfect condition?
I can't even notice the screen lift TBH. I mean, I'm sure it's there, but it's nothing that's standing out. No creaking or anything--that I did check for
.
Yup. I received one after they were all sold out, so either it's a new new stock or old new stock. Regardless, no complaints on this end.Former moderator & advisor.

Re: Was your Nexus 7 defective or in Perfect condition?
It's crazy to think that the reviews from there are more reliable than seeing people's posts and images referring to the defects.
i didn't say it has more validity in a full respect. People here and other places are putting out the info of their experiences with this. How many of those people have the issues and didn't post about it, didn't know it was an actual problem, etc.? It doesn't make their reviews any better than the ones you find here or over at xda.
I went and exchanged mine this morning, not too long ago. I opened it at the CS counter, and you could see the entire screen lift on the left side of that. I took a pic of the receipt on that exchange. They brought another one up for me. Since they had a long line behind me I told them I'd open it when I got home. I have a receipt for this one too. So, this is my third one. Here's the pics on it. I took a pic of the lip, and then another just further up so you can see the difference in the flush part, to where the lip starts. All three of these are labeled from C60.
