Re: Google Nexus 7 Tips and Tricks
My Galaxy Nexus had this from ICS and also on JB. Once you've brought up the clock, press and hold, the screen changes to a blue digital clock on black background. From here a single tap will dim it out (same black screen/blue clock). I would assume its the same on the Nexus7 although I don't have one on hand to confirm it's the same. nice option to have although I never use it. - 08-04-2012, 08:37 AM #78

Those seem like nice apps, but I am still hoping to find a way to just connect my N7 to a television without the need of a PC or a console. Really wish they would just allow MHL support. Anyone know if it is possible to upgrade software to handle it or if hardware is missing inside the device?

Asking Google Now "What's my name?" should give you a little laugh.

Re: Google Nexus 7 Tips and Tricks
I guess I am having a mind dense two days. I already use Google cloud print between my PC and printer and also have a Canon app that lets me print pictures from my phone to my printer.
When I go to the play store I don't see any cloud print app developed by Google but I see a few other ones.
So can someone post a link to this Google cloud print app on the play store, or tell me who the developer of this application is. I want to get the one everyone likes. - 08-05-2012, 02:36 PM #96

Maybe, but I wouldn't count on it. Amazon may not make money on the Fire, and they may just want you in their ecosystem, but if they get you to buy a Fire you'll likely remain in their ecosystem exclusively, that is the real point of the Fire, the Fire doesn't just enable you to use their ecosystem, but it also stops you using Google's Play Store. And their instant video service may be something they feel they can withhold from regular Android, since it runs on the Fire already they could have made it available for regular Android a long time ago if that is what they wanted. Ultimately whether there'll be an Android app for it depends on them deciding it will be more profitable than keeping it exclusive to the Fire.
