I'm new to Android with my Nexus 7 - is there any twitter app that has live updating timeline like tweetbot on IOS- new tweets just appear at the top of the timeline?

Plume will if you turn on the live streaming feature or something like that.

I enjoyed Tweeter Deck, but my Hacker took it away...

Maybe I'm doing something wrong as I can only get Plume to show a banner that updates with the number of new Tweets but I have to press it to view the actual tweets?

I must be pretty boring because I use the official twitter app and I don't see anything wrong with it haha.

My other problem with tweetdeck is while the interface is fine for a phone, it definitely is not optimized for tablets. (Unless it has recently been updated and I don't know about it).

    Just my 2¢
Tweakdeck is just as good as tweetdeck !! That's what I use on my gnex and will probably use on my nexus 7, I downloaded tweet lanes for the 7 and its OK...might be better if you could add your own lanes like tweak/tweet deck

Of course tweakdeck hasn't been updated in some months lol but it did fix the fb issue and others that tweetdeck was having

I just started using Plume. I like that it lets you color code tweets

One of my favorite features. Now whenever I try a different app I think it's crazy they don't have that option.

The only problem i find with Plume is that it uses a awfully large amount of memory, slowing down the entire device.

I have Plume and Slices installed but I have been using Slices more than Plume and may eventually delete Plume.

How many accounts are you using and what is your list limit at? I am only using 1 twitter account and I have the limit set to 100. I haven't noticed any slow down due to Plume. Only thing that I've had cause slow down so far is the Ultimate Rotation app. As soon as I uninstalled that things were great again.

Stupid me, I did not even think to change any settings lol. But now that I have taken a look I am even more impressed with the functionality of Plume. I follow 900 people on twitter and had no limit set, so Plume was hogging > 250MB of memory. Thanks for the tip!

Another thing I really like about Plume is the integrated browser. Its not the quickest but its nice to be able to look through tweets while waiting for a page to load. Its like the integrated browser in the official twitter iPad app, but a bit more rough around the edges. I really wish the official twitter app for android was as good as the iPad one.

Thanks to the folks who brought up Tweet Lanes. I checked it out and have already deleted Tweetcaster Pro... I like T Caster but Tweet Lanes suits me more. Great app

Well guys, seems like Twitter is going to shut all of these 3rd Party Twitter clients down anyways save a few.
Here is the announcement. Still waiting for Twitter to respond.

This link states which apps that will possibly get canned.

Oh well for Carbon for Android.
    And I love Plume.

The developer of Plume doesn't seem worried, at least based on a Twitter post from today. Said they weren't worried and were doing their best to follow all the rules.

Good to know. I havent asked Tama (BW, Plume Dev) about it yet. But at least he posted something about it.

I dont want to leave Plume although Carbon looks nice.
    Thanks.

Its still in development, so some features are still missing, but the developer constantly voices with the community and pushes out updates every week. If nothing else, check it out! You can also get future premium features for free right now by using it.
