    Default Wifi and location services

My Nexus 7 isn't able to detect my location using only wifi (it did before the last Google Maps update). With Google Maps I get the "Your location is temporarily unavailable" message while with Google Now I don't get any cards: the screen eventually flashes and remains empty. I tried uninstalling the updates but as soon as I ran Maps it updated again. Has anyone else experienced this problem? With this not working Google Now is basically useless.

    Thanks for any insight.

Did you turn on the GPS to see if it pinpoint the location properly?

Yes, I tried GPS and it works fine. It's just with wifi (and GPS turned off) that the Nexus isn't able to locate me.
