Using USB OTG?

I've tried searching on Astro manager to find the flash drive that I have hooked up to my N7 through otg cable and can't find it.

I did a couple searches and some said that you need to have a rooted nexus in order to use and otg cable..

Is this true? Or is there another way?

Nexus Media Importer in the Play Store.

$2.99 and does not require root.....or you can unlock a root for free and use Stickmount for free.

BTW, with the otg cable, you can use a mouse, keyboard or game controller without being rooted or special app.

Yeah... I tried the Nexus Media Importer. It gives one-way USB thumb drive compatibility: read only. I use it for streaming videos via thumb drive. So far, works great. Good option for unrooted Nx7's.

I have 2amp 5 port USB hub. In it i plug my nexus 7, 2 - 3 flash drives and my Logitech unifying USB device. Which then of course lets you use a myriad of your other electronic products.

Or be like this guy and play old dos games with a floppy over yours >>>
