    both the Nook & Fire seem to be decently spec'd products for the price, but I don't know that I could stand to have either without immediately rooting & installing a different ROM. I'm still quite happy with my N7.

    These are not the tablets you are looking for.

    Nooks and Fires are for normal people who just want to consume their Amazon or B&N books and content. That said, the new Nook video service looks like it's signed some good partners. In contrast Google's Play offerings are pretty anemic so far.

    And that higher res screen is nice. I still think the N7 DPI is a smidge too low and colors too muted. Also MicroSD support would've been nice.
