turn off sleep in settings

Hi folks
I want to use the GPS while traveling and its annoying when (after I set it to max 30 minutes ) I have to keep remembering to touch the screen every 29 minutes or it switches to sleep mode.
I just want it to run as a GPS should, is there a way to get at least more than 30 minutes screen time?
Any thoughts on this would be welcome.

There is this app called Screen On that enables users to select which app you want the screen to always be on. And once you exit that app you have specified, your normal timeout will be back. Its free

I use a great little app, called Keep Screen. Ran it on my HTC One X and now the nexus 7

I decided to go with this one since it had slightly better ratings for androids
