I just picked up a Nexus 7 and my backlight is broken.
I can barely see a picture if I hold it under a lamp but it doesn't glow.
I did the 3 button restart, and it restarted with no backlight.
Thoughts?

What happens if you shine a flashlight directly into the light sensor? I've read a few posts from people who had a glitchy light sensor, and whose screens were pretty dark while set on automatic brightness. Shining a light on the sensor seemed to get the system working again.
Nothing.Quote:

The backlight isn't dim, it's off.
Exchange, if you just bought it.
That's the plan. I got the N7 when it first launched, wasn't overly impressed... I'll exchange it and give the N7 another go.Quote:

Well I got another Nexus 7 and the backlight works but it doesn't understand swiping. I can tap icons, but I can't swipe home screens or scroll websites.
Back to iPads. :(
