Is anyone getting ads appearing in their notification pane ? This has started happening over the past week or so. Presumably they're coming from a widget that I have installed, but I don't know how to identify which one - when I do it's outta here!

There are a number of ad detectors on Google Play. Try Lookout Ad Network Detector.

One of the nice features of Jelly Bean is "app info".

Do the following:

Open your Notification Shade.

Hold your finger on the notification in question. Keep your finger there until "App info" pops up. Tap "App info" and now you know which app is causing this notification to appear.

after you find what app it is from above method I recommend you remove the app and find an alternative.

I found the culprit - it was Duck Hunt. It was a crappy game anyway, so no great loss there - now uninstalled
