    Default Nexus 7 Camera App?

Can anyone recommend a free (or good) Nexus 7 camera app that will take photos and videos?

There is an app called camera launcher for nexus 7 by modaco. I found it in the play store it's free, it's only about 19KB and it does the job for me. The pic looks a little grainy but the camera that's built in is just for video messaging and not for photography.

Thanks, Mike. Camera Launcer for Nexus 7 works beautifully. (And thanks to Jeff Da also for suggesting the modaco app.) My only problem was inadvertently covering up the camera lens on some pics when I snapped the photos. I was delighted with the quality of the pics that did come out. I think the 1.2 MP Nexus camera is getting a bad rap.

I just wish the camera was not locked out of Photosphere. I realize it's only got a 1.2 mpix camera, but panos taken with it are surprisingly good.

It's getting a bad rap because, well, it's a 1.2mpix camera with no flash and a teensy little lens, and almost no one is using it in adequate light or for much else than video chat where the quality of your Internet connection means a lot more than the quality of your camera. You can't compare its output even to my 2-year-old Thunderbolt's 8mpix camera (damn it's a shame that's not a Nexus, because Photosphere on that sweet camera would be mind-blowingly good!)

For a 1.2mpix camera, it's a pretty good performer if you use it within its limitations (good ambient light, hold it still, etc). But when I want a quality photo, out comes the Thunderbolt, or my older shock-and-waterproof camera.
