My experience with 4.2 has been great. 4.1 was problematic for me -- my screen was registering more than one touch at a time, even if only one finger was touching the screen. It was very irritating.

I upgraded, did a factory reset, then made sure to configure Currents to not do background syncs, and configured the WiFi not stay on while the sleeping. I'm now very happy with 4.2.1. Prior to that I was not. I haven't actually measured my battery life, but it seems on par to what I got before.
