Re: Charging Power mah
Nexus can charge at 2 rates - 2.1 amps @ 5 volts provided by the charger that comes with the N7 or equal OR the standard USB2 .5 amps @ 5 volts.
USB charging takes MUCH longer.
No program is required - clicking on the battery in settings will tell you how long it takes for charging and your charging & discharging history. - 01-16-2013, 01:36 PM

Re: Charging Power mah
The reason I have asked is becuase I picked up a 2 usb 2.1 charging unit which states it can supply 2.1 if only 1 port is used but it was not charging my N7. I wanted to find out without using a multimeter to see if the N7 can show the incoming amperage

Re: Charging Power mah
i have used an 1,5 Amp adapter once, and it looks like its not enough to power the device, but it stretches the battery time before you need to connect it again to the correct adapter (its my backup scenario at the office

Re: Charging Power mah
Another one is Gauge Battery Widget which gives much the same info and has a Pro version at $0.99. As I recall the N7 has a nominal 4300 milliamp-hr battery. With the given time for a 1% increase you can calculate the current into the battery. The stock charger is rated at 2 amps but the charging current allowed is controlled by the. N7 battery control software and is reduced as the. percent charge increases over about 50%. Operating the tablet when charging also may increase the time to charge.

Re: Charging Power mah
Hmmm... So using Gauge Battery Widget my battery is at 25% with Approx Charging Speed of 6mins 58 sec. With a battery temp of 91.4F Battery voltage 3.784 Currently I'm using a Touchpad (HP) charger using a belkin 6' cable. I have Wireless off. I'm going to restart the Nexus to make sure nothing is running in the background to eat power.
Edit: With a Reboot and not turning on wireless the New info is
Approx. charging speed 3 min 9 sec Battery full 3 hours Battery Temp 91.4F Battery voltage 3.797VProud future owner of a S4 on Verizon once it arrives. - 01-17-2013, 11:45 AM #9
