My new Nexus 7 has 5 home screens, but how can I set one of them to always display as the default home screen.
After I've used the lock screen, it doesn't display the home screen I prefer.

The middle one is pretty much the default one. If you want to go to it press the home button twice.

With the stock launcher, the center home screen is the primary screen. I can't remember the behaviour exactly but iirc after the screen locks it just goes back to the last screen the device was on, not on the primary home screen. I'm not even sure if 3rd party launchers will do this, but I'm sure at least one does.
You can delete some of the 5 using alternate launchers like apex or nova...

I use Nova launcher (Prime) and I can reduce/add/re-arrange my homescreens at will. Very cool :-)
