Dropped my Nexus.....That's the bad news...
I had just laid it face down onto a pile on papers on my desk and turned my head when I heard a "Ka-thump!
The good news is:
1. I got that one "drop" everyone seems to experience, out of the way.
2. 32" inches (yes I measured it) onto a carpeted floor and yet it seems fine.
The even better news is that it was the old (blown speaker) RMA'ed one. New one arrived today....

How long did it take for the RMA to show up?

Re: Dropped my Nexus.....That's the bad news...
I let it go without follow up after I first called them (Google play), which was way back on 12/19/12. I emailed them a few days afterward and got a reply saying they would send a reminder to the "RMA department" (I think this means Asus). Then got a email wanting me to do a survey on my experience with google support on 1/12/13. I replied with "I haven't heard anything from the RMA department yet". Then received an email on 1/15 apologizing for the delay and asking for the CSSN number, which I replied with. Was sent a tracking number on 1/18 (a Friday) and it arrived this morning (1/22). Just sent them an email because they haven't sent a RMA number or return shipping label yet....

Sooo about 34 days..... give or take..... But had it been something more than a single blown speaker, I think I could have had everything done inside of 10 days tops. Would have stayed on their case with emails a couple three times a day...
btw, nice save... edit wise.... I do that all the time.. Here though, you can delete a post if you want.....

Haha, I totally misunderstood your post. I thought you got just the part for the speaker which made my night. I realized after posting you meant they sent the stupid box for an RMA.
I don't wanna send my baby in for just a speaker....arghh!! - 01-23-2013, 02:22 PM

Re: Dropped my Nexus.....That's the bad news...
Well as you can tell by the threads here, people are dropping them more n more, so it shouldn't be too awful long before you can just buy one (cheap)....
btw, you may have misread *snicker*.. They sent a replacement Nevus 7. I still have my old one too. I have 21 days to get it back to them (via a prepaid shipping label) before they charge my credit card. It's the (not so rapid) "rapid replacement" thing you get when you buy from google play store.... - 01-23-2013, 07:26 PM #6
