Something I've Never Noticed!

I've had my N7 for about 6 months now, and it's always been in a case.....I happened to remove it from the case this morning, to just give it a better cleaning, when I noticed something that I've never seen on my N7 before. on the left side, if you hold it in portrait mode, along the metal (silver edge) I see a split in the metal......it almost looks like it is the way it is suppose to be because it is perfectly in the center, and is not causing any functional problems......can someone check their N7 and are if they have the same thing?..... Thanks in advance.

Sounds to me like you are discribing the already known well documented screen lift issue along the left side of the device. Does it look like the screen has lifted up out of the bezel on the left side?

Yes, good point. Are you saying the metal actually looks cracked, or are you referring to the screen lift as mentioned by MarkFL88?

Mine has a hairline in each corner of the silver trim. Looks to be 4 sections of the trim.

I haven't noticed any splits in the trim of the Nexus 7 that I have.

I have a small _notch_ in the silver _plastic_ on mine (it is NOT metal).

Nope the screen isn't lifted in any way....its more of hairline split of the silver plastic trim along the side.

Sounds basically what I have on mine, except I have just one....it's more of a cosmetic thing, and doesn't seem to impair with the function of the tablet in any way.

The four markings that jamie is referring to are by-products of the molding process used to create the beveled silver band around the N7. There is one on each corner, and the markings are present on the rear-half of the beveled edge only. They shouldn't be present anywhere else along the device.

It sounds to me like yours has a scratch or some other marking which happens to be somewhat cosmetically agreeable.
