Can I stop system update check?

I was just sick to death of dealing with all the issues that came with the JellyBean update. Mainly that my Nexus7 was just getting slower and slower, and nothing I tried helped very much.

I finally wiped my tablet clean and restored it to the Android 4.1.2 rom

Now I keep getting a constant nag in the notifications and popup window that there is a system update. Is there any way to disable this?

how do I get n7 to stop bugging me about 4.2 update?

Followed the advice in that thread and it did the trick. I hope this newest Android update fixes more than just bluetooth, but I will certainly wait and see before updating.
