Nexus 7 - android 4.1.2 vs 4.2.1
I am one of the people that has had constant problems with android 4.2.1. I have a 32gb model with at least half the memory free. Despite this I suffered from horribly degraded performance. I even wiped my Nexus completely clean and did a fresh install, and the performance would go to hell in a matter of days. I've tried lagfix, wiping the caches, factory reset, nothing has helped. I became disgusted with my Nexus and Google as they seem completely unresponsive to fixing the issue.
I finally downgraded to android 4.1.2 and my Nexus is running like new again. Its the quick, responsive tablet that its supposed to be. I miss a few of the features from 4.2 but the problems it caused me were unbearable. Anyone else with problems, I fully recommended doing the same. All my apps load faster, I seem to get better performance in games, the GUI does not lag, and my battery is lasting longer once again.
The one issue I had was a constant nagging reminder to install a system update. The app 'auto run manager' was able to take care of that problem, and now I am happy with my nexus again.
Edit: almost forgot, with 4.2.1 my wifi would not connect when the tablet resumed from sleep. I would have to restart wifi to get my connection back.
Wifi is now working correctly again with 4.1.2
