Charges too slow while in use

Nexus 7 did not use to charge at 10% an hour. It used to be about 20%. This still happens on 4.2.2. The real strange thing is that 1 out of 10 times it will charge fast like it used to. I've tried both powering on with it plugged in and plugging it in after it is powered on... no difference. It also does not seem to matter what I am doing on the device. Watching Netflix or browsing. Even on those occasions it does charge fast, it will charge fast no matter what I am doing. By the way, even though I have never timed it, it still seems to charge at normal rate when plugged in and powered down. Anyone else seem to be experiencing anything similar?

On a side note, I cannot be for sure at all, but the problem seemed to have started sometime after I had to use an old phone charger to charge my Nexus. The charger was so weak that it actually drained while plugged in and in use. No joke that it took 5+ hours to charge with it off with that thing either. Could that have damaged the charging time of the battery? It drains as usual however...

It could be that the charger is staring to have difficulties. Do you have another 2A charger (i.e. kindle fire charger, iPad charger, etc) that you can try?

See what happens when you charge it with Wi-Fi and GPS turned off.

No, no other charger. Wi-Fi off should increase it, but I think it might be the charger because like I said it used to be faster no matter what was on or off. Thanks for responses.

If u have a WiFi connection use it while u charge because phones and tablets charge faster on WiFi but if its not a connection then yeah its burning juice looking for a signal.
